Stop Gender Based Violence
No community is free while women and girls live in fear.
The ANC's local government programme places the fight against Gender-Based Violence at the centre of building better communities.
Our Programme Commits To:
- Safer streets through better lighting, CCTV in hotspots and visible municipal law enforcement
- Municipal support for Thuthuzela Centres, shelters and victim empowerment programmes
- By-law enforcement against alcohol abuse and illegal shebeens that fuel violence
- Youth programmes and community dialogues to challenge patriarchy and protect women and girls
A South Africa that belongs to all is a South Africa where women and girls live free from violence and everyone feels safe.
Vote ANC on 4 November 2026 for safe communities.
